Hello Woolie Fans!

Savannah has reminded me that I did not get an update out on Friday.  I am busy getting ready for Market.  My projects are finished and I am wrapping up details for the Show.  I am so excited about my new designs and wanted to give you a preview of my brand new Block of the Month called “The Red Chair.”  This quilt has a pieced background using Kansas Troubles Quilters fabric scraps.  Pieces of fabrics from many different lines.  It is a great way to use up scraps!  I actually totally finished the top, including quilting and binding and then added the Wool applique to the finished piece.  As you see below, the quilt features a Red chair, Compass, Geraniums, Fruits and Veggies, a Basket and lots of Bees!!!  Watch for news on this project, the pattern will be available after June 1st and we will be offering the Wool Applique pieces in a Kit.

I am wondering where my luggage is?  I wonder which storage unit it is in and probably (my luck!) it is way in the back!  I am also looking for my magic wand…..I could really use it right now!

I hope you have a great week, I will be excited to share news of Quilt Market when I return.  Be sure to check out Savannah’s Mini Moments below, she is sharing another great recipe.

“Mini Moments” – A conversation with Bee…….

I love to dance, but I always remember that school comes before dance. Not only do I love to dance, I also like school. I am homeschooled and I love it. My mom is my teacher and I enjoy our time together!  My favorite subjects in school are math and reading. I love math because it gives my brain a twist and it's just full of fun and strategy. Oh, how I love reading!  Reading is so much fun because you can make it enjoyable by putting yourself in the character's shoes. Reading can be full of adventures, mysteries, comedies, suspensful scenes, and much more.  I will always be a fan of reading and math. Some of my favorite books are; The Shadow Thieves, Crispin: the Cross of Lead, and my favorite, The Seer of Shadows. What is your favorite book? If you want to find some more really good books, then check out my other blog at www.thestudyhouse.blogspot.com. I hope you enjoy. Unfortunately, I am sad that I only have two weeks of school left, but then it is my favorite time of the year, SUMMER TIME!

I know that everyone likes to eat yummy cookies. These are just to good to be true, I like to call them "Bee's Mexican Wedding Cookies."

Bee’s Mexican Wedding Cookies (courtesy of Paula Deen) – Makes about 2 ½ dozen of delicious cookies

1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature

½ cup confectioners’ sugar, plus more for coating baked cookies

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 ¾ cups all purpose flour, plus more for dusting hands

1 cup pecans, chopped into very small pieces

Preheat the oven to 275 degrees. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.

Using an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugar at low speed until it is smooth. Beat in vanilla. At low speed gradually add the flour. Mix in the pecans with a spatula. With floured hands, take out about 1 tablespoon of dough and shape into a crescent. (That is Moon shaped) Continue to dust hands with flour as you make more cookies. Place onto prepared cookies sheets. Bake for 40 minutes. When cool enough to handle but still warm, roll in additional confectioners’ sugar. Cool on wire racks.

Bee Note….The cookies do not expand when baking, so you can place them pretty close on the cookie sheets.

Here is the bible verse of the week ' For God is the King of all the earth; sing to him a psalm of praise' Psalm 47:7 NIV
